Into the Light Healing Arts - Allie Bauer

Focusing in John Barnes' approach to Myofascial Release is my bodywork practice.  I work individually,  and am so excited  to be partnering with the high caliber community of Confluence 2.0!!

I've been in love with hands on work since I began studying 28 years ago.  I've incorporated Swedish and Neo-Reichean Massage, Polarity Therapy, Zen Shiatsu and Oriental Medicine,  Breathwork and Life Coaching into my practice in the past.  And while I've been known to offer a kick-butt massage (!!!)  Myofascial Release has been at the forefront of my practice in the last 3 years--with outstanding results.

Myofascial Release is a hands on modality that accesses the fascial system of the body. Fascia is the connective tissue that comprises and surrounds every aspect in our incredible beings--from each individual cell (WOW!) on up into grosser mechanisms such as organs, bones, muscles and nerves.  When ease and flow cease in our mind/body complex due to
trauma--both emotional and physical, surgeries, repetitive stress, and general hard core living (!) our connective tissue dehydrates, becoming glue-like and fascial restrictions occur.  Those restrictions put pressure on pain sensitive structures in our body,  pull us out of alignment, and reduce the bodies innate ability to perform with incredible function--physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual. Myofascial Release restores the mind/body complex to flow and ease
through gentle, sustained pressure into the fascial restrictions of the body.

So who is this service for?  ANYONE WHO HAS A BODY!!  All of us!  Each and every one.   And this is why both treatment from a therapist AS WELL AS learning how to self-treat are incorporated into the foundational principles of this work.  This is incredible work!  Reducing chronic and acute pain, increasing ranges of motion, and treating a long and extensive list of ailments within both the physical and more subtle structures of our body.

I include home self-treatment exercise with each session, and I look forward to encouraging all of us to self treat through offering a weekly Myofascial Stretching Class.  Time and Day to be announced.  There will be self treatment tools available every day--including foam rolls, yellow balls, cranio cradles, sacro wedgys, and nola rolas.  I WILL BE ENCOURAGING ALL OF US TO USE THESE TOOLS AND SELF TREAT!!

I will be at Confluence 2.0 at least 3 weekdays--Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday between the hours of 9am and 4pm (or something like it) or will move those days around as we start flowing and see what works best.  I will offer 2 saturdays/month for those interested in treatment who cannot take time out of the weekday.

My rates are $75/hour and $40/half hour and I will be ready to work when Confluence 2.0 and Green Mountain Cross Fit open the doors July 1st!

Sessions are by appointment.  Walk-ins work when they work, but often don't!  I do have a massage chair, and when I don't have scheduled sessions, chair work will be available for clothed, less formal, shorter in duration periods of absolutely worth it hands on work.
