30 Minutes of Mental Strength
Tuesday's 30 Min. EMOTM of 5 KB Thrusters, 5 KB Swings and 5 Burpees was a doozie. I got to round 10 and had a moment of panic where I questioned being able to suffer through the remaning 20 rounds.

We have officially changed our movement standard on the box jump to mirror that of the CrossFit Games so I thought we should explain the reasoning a little more. Although the competitive side of CrossFit does not dominate our focus as a gym, generally the standards that the top athletes abide by are grounded in quality movement patterns and lead to safer workouts.

3 X 2 Min. Quivering Plank - Supplementing CrossFit
Yesterday we had another heavy day (Snatch + OHS) and I found myself pretty tired 3 hours post-WOD, but faced with an opportunity to join Merin's Fitness Flow class at 5 pm. I jumped in, only to hear "today's flow is going to feature some 2 minute plank holds!" Yikes. That's going to suck.
I Can't Do That - Embracing Intimidation
Let's talk about an interesting occurrance that happens within our community at the gym and in the physical activity world in general. "Intimidation" is the one word description, but really it's a phenomenon that cuts deeper into the psyche of our relationship with exercise.
